Project 05- Pilot Character Design

DUE:


-Guidelines-

On an 11"x17" page, you will design a pilot that looks belonging to your vehicle design based on its similar design theme (ex. shape, patterns, features, characteristics).

We will follow the design process in steps-

Design Process (per subject)-

1. Silhouettes (12+ minimum)
2. Sketch line drawings over silhouettes (3+ variations)
3. Rough line drawings over sketch drawings (3+ variations)
4. Rough clean up
5. Perspective lay-in
6. Tone
7. Highlights
8. Details
9. Final Presentation


Should have 3 minimum printed pages for Character project-

PAGE 1: Thumbnails (Solid Silhouettes)

PAGE 2: Process (Line Drawings Over Silhouettes, Variations of Line Drawing, & Final Line Drawing Design)

PAGE 3: Presentation (Final Presentation of Character Design in Action/Victory Pose)

Extra Credit Opportunities

DUE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 11th

As an opportunity for extra credit, students may choose to do the following assignments. On 11"x17" pages with toned paper texture, using the white highlight technique that was displayed in the last project:

1. Tree House in Organics 


Draw a tree house in a large organic tree. Please consider lost and found edges and areas of detail as mentioned before in class. ( Don't over detail the entire page.) You may use references provided below to help. Take a look at artists like Paul Felix and Michael Spooner for inspiration.

2. Organics Sketches

- Draw 2 whole pages of different organic trees, plants, and environmental element parts using the techniques in class. Must show some indication of lights, shadows, and textures.

References
